Weber County Law, Section 4-17-3, requries
all property owners to control noxious weeds. Failure to do so shall be
deemed negligent and enforced control measures may be imposed. Expenses
of control measures employed by the county shall be paid for by the property
owner or constitute a lien on the property.

CURLY DOCK
An invasive and rapidly spreading weed in our area, which robs the soil and surrounding
plants of water. It cannot be eliminated by pulling or cutting due to the root systems which run extremely deep.
U of U Ex. Service's James V Barnhill suggests the only effective weed killers are:
- Milestone
- Dicamba
- Weed Master
* Add surfactant to all sprays to ensure
adherence to the leaves
* 8" is about the right height to start spraying
Many of these product's directions are developed for farm or range land use and describe wide area spraying. For residential
use, they should be spot applied to avoid killing desirable plants.
At a minimum, make sure you top the plant and dispose of
it properly before the seeds are allowed to mature and propogate more plants. Allowed to propagate, this plant will rob water
resources and crowd out any desirable plants.
